WHRFC 34 vs DUBLIN 27 - May 15, 2022

Walnut closed out the regular season at Brimelow Fields for a league match vs Dublin out of Columbus on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Dublin jumped on top quickly with a try in the corner before Paul Buerger was able to slot a penalty kick to bring the score to 3-5. It was a back and forth match again and Dublin was able to go up by 2 tries. The team quickly regrouped and brought the game even with just minutes to go. Freshman Michael Lauterbach was able to get space on the outside and touched down for his second try of the game with no time left. The converted try put Walnut ahead at the final whistle, 34-27. A great way to finish the regular season and head into the playoffs! Thank you to the seniors that led by example today and all season. You will be missed.

WHRFC 24 vs Withrow 26 - May 4, 2022

Walnut hosted Withrow for a friendly rematch on a Wednesday night in a back and forth match for 70 minutes. Withrow was able to strike first before a Brendan Enders try tied things up. Withrow was put another on the board, answered by Evan Powers with a smart pick and go. Paul Buerger took a long run into the corner to bring things even before another Brendan Enders try put the Eagles up 5 going into injury time. Injury time came back to bite us with a Withrow converted try to put the Tigers up 2. A great last effort fell short and a turnover saw the final score at 24-26 Withrow.

WHRFC 0 vs Northern force 36 - april 24, 2022

Walnut welcomed Northern Force from Dayton to Marx Stadium on Sunday April 24th. Once again Walnut had trouble at the worst times, with several trips inside 10M, to come away with nothing each time. A yellow card at the end of the first half allowed for some quick tries by NF. At full time Walnut was on the short end, 0-36

WHRFC 0 vs St xavier 40- april 8, 2022

Walnut traveled up the hill to St. Xavier for a Friday night showdown. The Bombers took an early lead but Walnut held tough, with several opportunities. But the cards weren't in our favor and mistakes kept X ahead 12-0 at the half. A quick try after the 2nd half kickoff and some injuries were more than we could overcome in the end, with St. X add a couple of late tries to seal it and shut out the Eagles, 40-0

WHRFC 5 vs Moeller 53- March 25, 2022

Walnut welcomed Moeller to Marx Stadium in a last minute venue change. The home field did little to help an overmatched WHRFC team. Walnut mistakes led to a rush of Moeller tries before MOTM Brendan Enders was able to dot down with no time left.

WHRFC 22 @ WITHROW 19 - March 18, 2022

Walnut kicked off the regular season with a thrilling last minute win over Withrow, 22-19. Despite being down men for most of the match, Withrow capitalized on mistakes and was able to stay ahead until the final whistle, when Brendan Enders was able to get loose on the outside and out pace the defense to score in the corner. Great to get a win on the first week, but a little too close for comfort.
